I grew up here in Newcastle. I went to Hamilton South Public School and then around the corner to Newcastle High School, where I attained my HSC in 2002.
I took a year off and worked here in Beaumont Street – at BYO Cellars, in its previous location, across from the IGA. The Bottle-O was called Corkers-on-Beaumont in those days!
In 2004, my passions were music and surfing, but I begrudgingly took up an offer to study a degree in Information Science at the University of Newcastle. I worked, studied, and travelled throughout my twenties and – after transferring degrees once or twice – graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Law. I chose media production as my communications major to feed my passions for music, radio and music videos. I met some great people and lifelong friends at university.
In 2015, I joined a growing local firm and worked as a full-time paralegal in the field of medical negligence. I completed my graduate diploma in legal practice (College of Law, Sydney) and was admitted to practise as a solicitor.
Between 2015 and May 2020, I continued to work as a solicitor at my previous firm. I was promoted from within and eventually became an acting practice group leader in medical negligence.
During the first wave of COVID-19, I parted ways with my previous firm and took some time off with my young children, then two-and-a-half years (Dylan), and 11 months’ old (Ruby).
Later in 2020, I was “head-hunted” by a national mid-tier insurance law firm – but I did not stay long. When the Law Office of Conrad Curry offered me a position, I jumped at the chance to re-join a former mentor in Conrad Curry, and to work with his experienced and talented team. Since November 2020, I have been relishing the opportunity to expand my areas of practice under astute leadership.
My current practice spans the breadth of personal injury claims, including medical negligence, public liability, workers compensation and motor vehicle accidents. I also act in criminal and traffic matters, civil litigation and general health law matters.
I am passionate about football (soccer). I still play all-age football and follow Liverpool in the English Premier League. I watch as many live European games as I can, despite the time-difference causing some unwanted disruptions to sleep!
When I am not working to achieve excellent result for our clients, I enjoy spending time with my two children, my wife, Nat, and our tiny dog, Taco.
